mlk jr. holiday

hadn't planned on running but it was way too nice out. gotta pounce on it before school gets too hectic.

huge contrast to the dreariness and rain of the rest of the weekend. it actually felt warm in the sun, though i still needed a jacket for the wind and shady parts.

i rarely carry a camera when i'm running. brought it along this time cuz i thought, oh hey, why not. it gave me a chance to show how indecisive the weather's been.

kind of surreal how it snowed a week ago. most of the ice in the potomac's already melted. this is QUITE abnormal. last year, i didn't run outside at all for the entire month of january since it was so freezing (except during that unfortunate race in arizona, which doesn't count).

it was great to see so many other people outside running and biking! when i was taking the rock creek park trail back to dupont, another runner coming towards me stuck his hand out for a high five. i barely five'd it back in time - but i caught it!

before i was about to head home, i turned around to look for the embassy of haiti since i knew it was somewhere nearby on massachusetts . lots of buzz going on in there. you all know why.

running total: ~8 mi
indoor activity: a session of kickboxing, then another session of muay thai (did these back-to-back at night)

  1. can't believe the weather can change so much in such a short time. without the ice, it looks like spring is on its way already. good grief, 8mi, kickboxing, muay thai.. did you do anything besides work out today? ;) so hardcore. love the pics as usual :)

  2. haha it all only totals to about 4 hours of activity, which is less than the amount of time i typically spend at work! plenty of time to get other things done, esp since i don't have much schoolwork yet :)
