lemond reunion

my lemond's been waiting for me to pick it up all week but i didn't have time to go to the shop until today. finally! the georgetown revolution cycles is only two miles away from my apartment. i thought about running there, but i didn't want to run with my helmet. cuz god forbid i run there helmetless and bike away without wearing anything to protect my head if some crazy bmw (or ferrari) drives into me.

i ran an easy route and then walked to the shop with my helmet and shoes tucked in my bag.

passed this poor thing on my way over to gtown. always sad to see a victimized bike. it was on p street, where my bianchi boardwalk commuter got stolen about a year and a half ago. i shipped the bianchi from berkeley, had it for a week, went to a cafe to study, came out feeling defeated and found that my bike wasn't where i locked it (with a U lock, too). i walked home crying.

revolution cycles is the local trek dealer. however greg lemond had a fallout with trek, so the company's no longer manufacturing lemond-branded bikes. what a shame. oh well, all that matters is that i still have mine. my lemond hasn't been back on the east coast ever since we left baltimore together in summer '06. really happy to be riding around on it again. i felt like i was flying the entire ride home!

i wanted to take it out for an easy trail ride to bethesda and back but got caught up with some stuff after my run. that made me leave later than planned, so by the time i picked up the bike it was already getting dark. unfortunately i can't ride tomorrow since it's supposed to rain. i'll just have to wake up extra early on monday to get in a ride before work.

currently keeping the lemond in front of my roommate's flat screen since he's currently away on a business trip. i never watch tv either.

running total: 3 miles
riding total: 2 miles from the shop... doesn't really count
