presenting "with my own two wheels"

one of my pet projects for the hoyas cycling team this semester was to bring a screening of this film to campus:

it was produced and co-directed by an old cal cycling teammate who studied PACS (the major i've always wanted to pursue but didn't), volunteered in bike-related development work and made amazing films (for both cal cycling and social justice). when i found out he was taking WMOTW on a spring screening tour, i knew i had to bring it to georgetown. i mean, come on - bikes and development? i'm so there. the team's also changed up the typical sponsorship model by promoting causes, and this film just seemed so appropriate for it (and my own personal ambitions/inclinations).

given how small and resourceless the team is, the greatest challenge was... figuring out how to make it happen. fumbled around a lot, but i ended up being lucky enough to get help (and reassurance) from both my graduate program and an incredibly supportive sponsor of hoyas cycling. wouldn't've been possible without them. otherwise i'd be much more stressed out right now.

location details are still getting worked out, but the screening's set to take place the evening of next wednesday, april 6 - right before i fly back from berkeley. i'm somewhat concerned about the anticipated turnout, but we'll see how it goes. i've got my fingers crossed for way too many things these days.
